Why this one earns its place
Det&Rinse is a combined detergent and rinse aid formulated for UNOX’s 5E series ovens, doing both halves of the automatic clean in a single product.
The detergent element breaks down dirt, burnt-on food and grease across the cavity, while the rinse aid component is there to flush out the finer particles that settle into corners, seals and hard-to-reach areas a straight detergent wash can leave behind.Because it’s designed around the 5E series specifically, it’s matched to how that oven’s automatic wash programme is set up to dose and rinse — which is why UNOX restricts it to that range rather than positioning it as a universal oven cleaner. For a kitchen running 5E ovens hard through service, that specificity means the wash cycle is working with a product built for it, not adapted to it.It’s supplied concentrated, so the cost-per-clean stays low across repeated automatic wash cycles — a meaningful saving for any site running its oven daily.
It comes in 5Ltr containers, two to a pack, a sensible bulk-stock quantity for a kitchen that doesn’t want to be reordering every few weeks. As a corrosive product, it needs the same careful storage and handling as any concentrated commercial detergent — kept upright, away from other chemicals, with gloves for anyone dosing or decanting it.For UNOX ovens outside the 5E range, or without an automatic wash system fitted, UNOX’s Spray&Rinse (FX025) or Det&Rinse ECO (FX026) are the products matched to those setups instead.

SDS
Read the label and the manufacturer’s safety data sheet — the pictograms tell you what you are holding.

Who could be harmed, and how badly? Judge likelihood against severity before anyone opens the cap.

Eliminate or substitute first, engineer and organise next — PPE is the last line, never the first.

Keep the controls working: check ventilation, dosing equipment and storage stay as they should be.

Everyone who uses it knows the hazards, the correct dilution and the PPE — before the first shift, not after.

Products and processes change. Reassess when they do, and keep the record that proves it.
Guidance summary only — the product label, the current safety data sheet and your own COSHH assessment remain the authority.
