Commercial refrigeration servicing
Installation across England and Wales. Servicing, maintenance and repairs from our own family engineers across South and West Wales.
Repairs, maintenance and servicing
Craven Cooling is a family run, independent business. We’re not tied to any manufacturer, so you get honest advice with no pressure to push a particular brand. Our servicing comes down to one simple thing: we fix it properly the first time.
We’ve been taking these machines apart and putting them back together for the best part of three decades, so our engineers know them inside out. We look after all makes and models, not just what we sell, and whether it’s planned maintenance or an emergency breakdown, we’ll keep your refrigeration running and your business trading.
Our own engineers, across South and West Wales
Our refrigeration engineers are local. Based at our Swansea showroom, they cover South and West Wales, including Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, Neath, Port Talbot, Bridgend, Llanelli, Milford Haven and Burry Port.
From a single chiller in a commercial kitchen to a full maintenance contract for a busy convenience store, servicing, maintenance and repairs are all carried out by our own team. No subcontractors, no call centres, just familiar faces who know your equipment and your business.
We also install across England and Wales, so wherever you are, our engineers can supply and fit your refrigeration. The ongoing servicing, maintenance and repairs then stay closer to home, across South and West Wales.
Why regular servicing matters
That’s the thing about refrigeration: it only gets talked about when it stops working. A clogged condenser, a tired door seal, a fan on its way out. None of it shows on the surface, all of it lands on your reviews.
A few minutes of preventative maintenance keeps the part nobody sees doing the job everybody feels. Coils clean, seals tight, temperatures where they should be. Equipment doesn’t fail on a quiet Tuesday, it fails on your busiest service. Years in the trade have taught us that planned maintenance always costs less than emergency downtime.
From condenser cleans to seal replacements and full servicing, we’re here to keep your kitchen running, with honest advise, the right parts and proper support from our own local team.
Proper maintenance protects your investment and your business:
- Prevent breakdowns – Catch worn parts before they fail and ruin your stock
- Reduce energy bills – Clean, well-maintained equipment uses less electricity
- Extend equipment life – Regular servicing adds years to your refrigeration
- Maintain temperatures – Properly serviced units hold steady temperatures for food safety
- Avoid neglect-related breakdowns: – poorly maintained equipment is far more likely to fail, and many manufacturers can reject a warranty claim if a fault comes down to a lack of servicing. Regular maintenance helps you avoid both.
- Minimise downtime – Planned maintenance happens when it suits you, not during your busiest business hours
Our servicing offering
Our servicing covers every side of commercial refrigeration maintenance and repair, from routine servicing and condenser cleans to seal replacements and full compressor rebuilds.
There’s real value in a proper service. As well as keeping your equipment running efficiently, our engineers carry out preventative maintenance, and it’s often during a service that we catch a fault early and fix it before it turns into a costly breakdown.
Planned maintenance visits take care of all of this for you. Your equipment stays reliable, and problems get caught before they cause disruption.
Spares & remote support
We carry universal spare parts and can source parts locally, which keeps our response times fast and our first visit fix rate high. If a specific manufacturer part is needed, we’ll source it and fit it for you.
If a minor issue doesn’t really justify a call out, our remote diagnostic service can help you sort simple problems yourself. Where possible our engineers will talk you through it over the phone, work out which part you need, and where possible arrange delivery. It’s practical support that saves you money on call out charges for the straightforward fixes.
Emergency repairs
When your commercial refrigeration fails, every minute costs money. Our engineers respond quickly because we understand the urgency. Lost stock, health inspections, reputational damage, we know what’s at stake.
If your unit can’t be repaired straight away, we’ll do everything we can to get you back up and running as fast as possible. For emergency refrigeration repairs in South and West Wales, call our team on 01792 732702.
Three generations of expertise
Refrigeration runs in the family. Our director Darren learned the trade from his own father, then went on to build Craven Cooling into the business it is today. He’s since taught both his sons, Kyle, who has been in the trade since 2020, and Harrison, who joined in 2024, so the knowledge keeps being passed down.
The technology has moved on over the years, but the fundamentals haven’t. Diagnose accurately, fix properly, treat people fairly. When we service your equipment, you get decades of hands on family experience behind every visit.

What areas do you cover?
We install commercial refrigeration across England and Wales. Our servicing, maintenance and emergency repairs are all covered across South and West Wales, including Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, Neath, Port Talbot, Bridgend, Llanelli, Milford Haven and Burry Port.
Are your engineers qualified?
Yes. Craven Cooling Services Ltd is F-Gas certified and REFCOM registered (REF1016130), and our refrigeration engineers are City & Guilds qualified, including F-Gas Category I. They’re also trained to work on modern hydrocarbon refrigerants, including R290 and R600.
Do you service all brands, or only what you sell?
We service all makes and models of commercial refrigeration, not just equipment we’ve supplied, including Arneg, Tefcold, Williams, Foster, True, Elstar and Polar, among others.
Do you offer emergency callouts?
Yes. We offer emergency refrigeration repairs across South and West Wales. Our mobile engineers carry a wide range of spares so most faults are fixed on the first visit. Call 01792 732702.
When is the best time to have my refrigeration serviced?
We recommend booking your servicing over the quieter winter and spring months, so your equipment is ready to work its hardest through the warmer, busier spells. Planning ahead helps you avoid a breakdown at your busiest time of year.
Can you get parts for my equipment?
Yes. We work with over 50 manufacturers and can order in spare and replacement parts of all kinds, from door seals, shelves and compressors to obsolete and hard-to-find spares for older equipment. We also carry universal parts and can source parts locally for fast emergency repairs.
Do you offer planned maintenance contracts?
Yes. Planned maintenance keeps your equipment running efficiently, catches problems early and can be scheduled around your quieter hours.
Are you an approved manufacturer service agent?
No, and we’re proud to be independent. As a family-run company we’re not tied to any manufacturer, which means honest advice and no pressure to push a particular brand. Our engineers are fully qualified, F-Gas certified and REFCOM registered.
Can a lack of servicing invalidate my warranty?
It can. If a breakdown is caused by a lack of maintenance, many manufacturers can refuse the warranty claim, so regular servicing is an important way to protect your equipment. We’re an independent company and don’t carry out manufacturers’ warranty repairs ourselves, so it’s always worth checking your own warranty terms, as some manufacturers ask for servicing to be carried out in a particular way.
