Why this blast chiller earns its place
The Friulinox Ready JK161 is a 12-tray blast chiller/freezer built for professional kitchens that need real throughput, not a token blast-chill cycle bolted onto a fridge. It rapid-chills from +90°C down to +3°C, or shock-freezes to -40°C air and -18°C core, processing up to 60kg per load — enough for a genuinely busy catering operation rather than a quiet gastropub kitchen. Soft-chill and hard-chill programmes cover both ends of the job, from delicate patisserie through to dense roasting joints, so the same cabinet handles pastry section and butchery prep without compromise on either.
Capacity is twelve 1/1GN or 600×400mm trays, drawing 2.505kW on a 400V supply. Smart fan modulation and an energy-saving fan stop that activates when the door opens cut wasted running cost, while 60mm PU energy-saving insulation minimises temperature drift between cycles. A 7-inch colour touchscreen with pre-set programmes puts consistent results within reach of any member of staff, not just whoever wrote the manual.
Hygiene features include a cataphoresis-coated evaporator, a magnetic four-sided door gasket and an internal sanitising cycle, all of which matter on a machine running multiple chill-and-clean cycles a day. Refrigerant is R290, and the unit carries 2 years parts and labour warranty as standard, with a gross weight of 190kg reflecting the build quality behind the 60kg batch rating.
