Why this stainless lid topping unit earns its place
The Blizzard TOP2000-14EN is a gastronorm topping unit that sits on top of a prep counter, giving a chilled holding surface for the ingredients a kitchen reaches for constantly through service. The hinged stainless steel lid lifts to reveal space for GN 1/4 containers up to 150mm deep across the full 2000mm width, so a whole row of toppings, fillings or garnish stays at temperature between orders. It suits a busier prep run than a shorter unit — a pizza bench or sandwich counter with several people working the line side by side.
Cooling is static, on R600a refrigerant, with a Dixell digital controller handling the setpoint — straightforward to check and adjust mid-service. Consumption is rated at 110 kWh a year, and the unit runs off a standard 13-amp plug-and-play supply, so no dedicated circuit is needed. Climate class 4 covers ambient kitchen conditions up to 30°C, which suits the great majority of UK commercial kitchens, and defrost is manual, needing a periodic switch-off to clear ice from the coil.
Construction is stainless steel inside and out, built for the repeated wipe-down a topping unit takes through a shift. The hinged lid has a lock position, so it can be propped open during prep and dropped shut between orders to protect the GN pans from splashes and steam. At 2000 x 335 x 281mm and 85kg gross, and running at a modest 42dB, it sits flush on a matching prep counter without adding to service noise.
