Why this glass topping unit earns its place
The GVC33-120 topping shelf sits above a prep counter and keeps ingredient pans chilled at the point of assembly. The chilled well runs 850 × 245 × 150 mm internally and gives 26 litres net, 31 litres gross, taking gastronorm pans so toppings, garnishes and made-up ingredients stay to hand and to temperature through service.
It holds a +2 to +8 °C band under electronic control using static cooling. Defrost is manual, so build a short defrost into the cleaning routine rather than leaving it to run continuously. At 40 dB it is quiet enough for an open pass, and on its verified figure of 963.6 kWh a year it costs about £241 a year to run at 25p/kWh.
The unit is finished in SS201 stainless steel inside and out and weighs 25 kg net, 29 kg gross, so it is light enough to reposition on the counter. It runs on a standard 13 A, 220–240 V supply and the sealed system holds 45 g of R600a refrigerant, needing no special installation beyond a suitable socket and a level surface.
