Why this upright earns its place
A single-door upright freezer is what a kitchen buys when frozen stock has to live where the cooking happens. The LJ300U carries 335 litres in a deliberately narrow body — Williams builds it as an ultra-slim model, and that is the difference between a freezer that fits the gap at the end of a run and one that costs you a section of bench you cannot spare.
The door does most of the work in a freezer's life, and this one is built to be left alone. It is self-closing and barrel-locked, with a magnetic balloon gasket that pulls to a 100% tight seal, so a door pushed shut by a chef carrying a tray in the other hand actually closes rather than bleeding cold into a hot kitchen. The full-length integral 'easy grab' handle can be taken anywhere along its height, which matters when your hands are full. Inside, anti-tilt trayslides stop a loaded tray dropping its front edge as it comes out, and the racking system lifts out completely for a proper wash-down. Heavy-duty non-marking swivel castors with brakes let the cabinet roll out to clean behind it and lock back into position without scoring the floor.
The exterior is foodsafe stainless steel over an aluminium interior with radiused base corners, so there is no square internal angle for spills to sit in. Insulation is 80 mm of precision-injected high-density polyurethane with low GWP and zero ODP — thickness is what holds temperature through a service of constant door openings and keeps the compressor from running longer than it has to. Temperature is set on the CoolSmart Controller, which uses electro-mechanical buttons behind an IP55-rated display: a front panel that takes being pressed with a wet glove and wiped down at the end of a shift.
