Why this single door commercial upright freezer earns its place
The BLIZZARD LW40 is a single hinged-door upright freezer sized for kitchens that need dedicated frozen storage without committing a large footprint to it. At 595 x 640 x 1850 mm (W×D×H) it's narrow enough to slot into a tight run while still standing full height, holding 326 litres gross across five fixed-position shelves. It suits smaller restaurants, cafés and takeaways that want a full-height freezer without the floor space a wider upright demands.
Cooling is static, and defrost is manual — a straightforward, no-moving-parts-to-fail setup that keeps upfront cost down in exchange for a routine defrost schedule. A Dixell digital controller handles temperature control, and Energy Class B consumption runs to just 210 kWh a year, low for a full-height freezer. Climate Class 4 rates it for a normal working kitchen environment.
Build is a white laminated exterior with a white, easy-clean ABS interior — a lighter-touch finish than stainless steel, suited to back-of-house rather than open-kitchen positioning. The door is reversible to suit either side of an installation, fitted with a replaceable gasket and an integrated door lock as standard, with a full-height integrated handle. It runs on R290, a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with negligible global warming potential. Gross weight is a light 79 kg.
