Why this upright freezer earns its place
The Polar G-Series GD880 is a double-door slimline upright freezer for kitchens that need serious frozen storage without moving into a walk-in. It gives you a listed 960Ltr gross capacity and 719 litres net volume, arranged across six shelves behind two hinged doors, so frozen stock can be separated by service, section or product type rather than stacked into one deep space.
The cabinet is 1340mm wide, 710mm deep and 2010mm high, with 60mm insulation and a stainless steel build for a hard-working back-of-house environment. Polar's G-Series description adds lockable, self-closing doors, castors, digital temperature control and construction intended for frequent access in commercial kitchens up to 32°C ambient.
Performance is listed at -20 to -10°C, using fan assist with static cooling and R290 refrigerant with a GWP of 3. Energy class is D, with consumption stated at 8.71 kWh per 24 hours and 3179 kWh per year, so the live running-cost calculation is worth checking against your own tariff before you choose capacity.
