Why this ventilated cooled ice cream display freezer earns its place
The Labor 70 is a solid-door tempering freezer for scoop ice cream — a back-of-service cabinet that holds tubs at a workable temperature so they are ready to bring forward onto the display. With 641 litres gross and 522 litres net behind a single hinged, self-closing door, it gives a parlour or kiosk somewhere to keep back-up flavours cold and consistent. Inside and out it is SS304 stainless steel, which stands up to a wet, high-turnover ice cream environment and wipes down easily.
In use it holds -18 to -14 °C, the band that keeps tubs firm while staying close to scooping condition. Defrost is manual, so factor a defrost into the cleaning routine rather than expecting an automatic cycle. It is rated energy class D at 2241.1 kWh a year, which is about £560 a year at 25p/kWh, and it runs at a measured 52 dB — quiet enough to sit near a service area without dominating it.
Electrically it needs only a standard 13 A supply at 220-240 V, 50 Hz, drawing 450 W, so no dedicated circuit is required. The refrigerant is R290, a low-GWP hydrocarbon. It is a heavy cabinet at 172 kg gross and 148 kg net, so plan the delivery route and its final standing position before it arrives, and note the self-closing door helps hold temperature through a busy service.
