Why this ice cream maker earns its place
The Gelato Expert 11680 is a compact countertop machine for churning gelato, sorbet and ice cream from your own recipes. It produces a 2-litre batch in about 20 minutes, so it suits made-to-order and small-run frozen desserts rather than continuous high-volume output. At just 360mm high and 10.8kg, it is genuinely compact — small enough to fit a café counter without dominating the space. Fresh, made-on-site gelato is a strong draw on a counter, and this machine lets a smaller operator add it without a dedicated production area.
In use it is a batch process: you prepare a mix, churn it in the machine, then scoop or store the finished batch. Because output is a small batch at a time, it fits a rhythm of making little and often to keep flavours fresh, rather than running a continuous line. The machine offers three automatic programmes or manual mode for control, and the removable bowl lets you stack batches in a freezer while the next one churns. Following the recipe and churn routine gives the most consistent texture batch to batch.
Setting it up is straightforward. It is a countertop unit running on 180W, so it needs a stretch of bench and a nearby 240V mains socket, with clearance around it for ventilation. Position it where staff can work to it and where the finished batches can go straight into a freezer or serving well.
