Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The Tefcold IDB400-W1 is a display chest ice cream freezer built for merchandising frozen tubs and pre-packed lines at the point of sale. It carries 435 litres gross, giving a deep chest of storage where stock stays cold and within easy reach of customers.
Day to day it is rated energy class D with an energy efficiency index of 49.4 % and a measured consumption of 916.1 kWh a year, which works out at about £229 a year at 25p/kWh. Defrost is manual, so clearing ice build-up periodically keeps it running efficiently. It runs at 55 dB and is built to climate class 7, meaning it is rated to hold temperature in warmer shop-floor ambients.
The internal space measures 1210 × 550 × 617 mm (W×D×H), and the cabinet draws 253 W. Cooling is handled by natural R290 refrigerant with a 115 g charge, a low-carbon hydrocarbon gas.
