Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The IC501SC is a flat glass lid chest freezer built to display frozen impulse stock — ice cream, lollies and frozen packs — through sliding glass lids. It holds 491 litres gross and 430 litres net, a larger display bed than a compact impulse cabinet, giving room to face multiple frozen lines side by side. The white exterior suits a parlour, shop floor or forecourt position where frozen stock needs to be seen.
It runs at -24 to -14 °C, cold enough for ice cream at both storage and scooping temperatures, with static cooling and a mechanical controller. Defrost is manual, so plan a periodic defrost into your routine to keep it clear of ice. Sound output is 45 dB, and it is rated climate class 5 for warmer ambient conditions. At energy class D it is rated at 996.5 kWh a year, about £249 a year at 25p/kWh.
The cabinet measures 1550 × 630 × 892 mm externally and ships packed at 1640 × 750 × 940 mm, so check doorway and access clearance for the 1640 mm packed length before delivery. Internally it offers 1430 × 510 × 655 mm of frozen space. It runs from a standard 13 A supply at 220-240 V, 50 Hz, draws 191 W, and uses R290 refrigerant with a 110 g charge. Net weight is 72 kg.
