Why this sliding lid ice cream freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD IC101SCEB is a compact chest freezer with a curved glass sliding lid, sized to put a small run of frozen stock on show at a counter or serve point. The clear lid makes it a display cabinet as much as a freezer, so ice cream, frozen impulse lines and grab-and-go stock stay visible before a customer opens it. The exterior is white with a white painted steel interior, a clean finish that suits a compact till-side or aisle position.
It holds a -24 to -14 °C band on static cooling, cold enough to keep ice cream and frozen goods hard, with manual defrost and a mechanical controller — you set the dial and clear the frost down by hand periodically. It is rated to climate class 5 for warm ambient conditions, and at 45 dB it runs quietly enough to sit right beside customers without intruding.
It plugs into a standard 13-amp socket, drawing 80 W, so no special wiring is needed. Cooling uses R600a refrigerant with a 60 g charge, a low-GWP hydrocarbon. Internally it offers 85 litres net (100 litres gross) across a 450 × 450 × 490 mm space, and ships at a packed 680 × 700 × 1010 mm — a footprint that fits tight counter positions, though it is worth checking against your spot before delivery. On energy it is class D with an energy efficiency index of 45%, about £118 a year in electricity at 25p/kWh.
