Why this parasol earns its place
A cantilever parasol earns its keep by getting the pole out of the way. The Bolero Venice does exactly that — a robust metal frame swings the 3.5m round canopy out over the table, leaving the seating area beneath it completely clear. At 2650mm to the underside of the canopy, there's headroom for guests to move about freely, and the 360° rotation means the shade can be turned to track the sun through the day rather than dragging furniture around to chase it.
The canopy itself is a thick 245gsm polyester, chosen for genuine outdoor durability rather than looks alone — it's treated for UV resistance so it won't perish under a summer of direct sun, and it's flame resistant too, a detail that matters wherever there's an outdoor grill, heater or candle nearby. Eight ribs hold the canopy taut and give it a clean, full round shape rather than sagging at the edges.
Opening and closing is handled by a crank handle built into the pole, so raising a 3.5m canopy doesn't mean wrestling with awkward pulleys or reaching overhead — one person can put it up or down at the start and end of a service. The whole unit is finished in cream, a neutral that sits comfortably against most patio and terrace colour schemes, and the frame is metal throughout for genuine weight and stability in the pole itself.
