Why this chest cooler earns its place
The EBC61 is a solid-lid chest cooler for bulk chilled storage where top-loading capacity beats shelving. It gives 476 litres gross and 472 litres net in a white cabinet inside and out, holding a chilled +3 to +10 °C. The chest layout loads from the top and holds temperature well between openings, which suits bottled drinks, bulk ingredients and any chilled stock held in volume and reached for in batches.
Day to day it runs on static cooling with an electronic controller, so temperature setting stays precise while the cabinet stays simple. Defrost is manual, so schedule a periodic defrost into your cleaning routine. It runs quietly at 41 dB and carries a climate class 4 rating for warm, busy ambient. It is notably efficient for its size at 248.2 kWh a year (energy class B), which is about £62 a year to run at 25p/kWh.
The cabinet measures 1706 × 696 × 857 mm (W×D×H) and packs to 1750 × 710 × 880 mm, so plan your delivery access around the packed width. It is light for its capacity at 63 kg gross and 58 kg net. Power is a standard 13-amp supply drawing 320 W at 220-240 V, and cooling uses R600a hydrocarbon refrigerant with a 77 g charge.
