Why this blast chiller earns its place
The Polar U-Series UA014 is a blast chiller/shock freezer designed to bring food temperature down fast, the step that separates safe cook-chill practice from food left to cool on its own. It reliably chills 12kg of food from +70°C to +3°C in 90 minutes, and freezes 8kg from +70°C to -18°C in 240 minutes, holding up to 3x GN 1/1 pans (shelves not included). For a kitchen with limited floor space that still needs to hit those HACCP-critical cooling benchmarks, it's a compact way to do it properly.
Control is via an innovative LCD touchscreen, simple enough to programme mid-service, with pre-set cycles for common product types or the option to store your own recipes for repeat use. A built-in food probe monitors the actual core temperature of what's inside during the cycle, rather than just the cabinet air temperature, giving a genuine read on when food has actually reached a safe temperature. The unit draws 700W on a 230V supply and runs on R290 refrigerant.
Construction is stainless steel throughout for the repeated, thorough cleaning a blast chiller needs given what passes through it. The door is reversible and the unit sits on lockable castors, so it can be positioned to suit the kitchen layout and pulled out again for cleaning or maintenance. At 104kg gross weight, it's built to be moved into position once and then left to do the job reliably. It's backed by 2 years parts and labour warranty as standard.
