Why this blast chiller earns its place
The Foster BFT22-17/284 GJ183 is a mid-sized cabinet in Foster's tray-loading blast range, set up primarily as a blast freezer with chilling capability for prep and production kitchens. It takes up to 6 shelves on a 1/1 gastronorm footprint and is rated at around 22kg per load, which places it between the compact countertop units and the larger floor-standing cabinets in the range.
Built in stainless steel with 65mm of insulation and an R404a circuit, it stands roughly 1515mm tall on a 755mm-wide, 690mm-deep footprint and weighs 128kg. It runs on a standard 230V supply, so it does not need the 400V connection the largest cabinet in the range requires — a useful point where the electrical supply at the intended position is limited.
As with any blast cabinet, the value depends on the cycle matching the food safety requirement, so plan around the 22kg load and 6-shelf capacity rather than fitting the busiest service to it. Craven Cooling can review the current supplier specification, confirm the freezing duty and flag the installation checks before the order is placed. It carries a 2-year on-site parts and labour warranty.
