Why this prep counter earns its place
The Polar G-Series countertop prep fridge is a display-topping unit rather than a storage cabinet — built to sit on a counter or worktop and keep sandwich fillings, pizza toppings or buffet ingredients chilled and within reach at the point of service. It's aimed squarely at sandwich bars, self-service buffets, pizza parlours and delicatessens rather than back-of-house storage.
Capacity is 67 litres across 4x GN 1/3 pans (sold separately, up to 100mm depth), with a static cooling system that runs quietly with no fans. Configuration is genuinely flexible — the same footprint takes 4x 1/3, or reconfigures to 8x 1/6, or 2/3-size pans, depending on how many separate ingredients need holding. Running at 0 to +12°C, it's rated Energy Class B with consumption of just 266.4 kWh a year and an EEI of 13.7% — one of the more efficient units in Polar's range — on a 105W input at 220-240V.
Construction is stainless steel and glass, built at 767mm width to fit standard counter runs, with a stylish curved hinged glass lid over the pans. Defrost is manual, refrigerant is R600a, and Polar rates the cabinet for ambient conditions up to 32°C, so it holds its range at the front of house as well as the back. It carries 2 years parts and labour warranty as standard.
