Why this glass topping unit earns its place
A refrigerated glass topping unit built to hold four 1/3-size gastronorm pans chilled on the counter, right where dishes get built. The 1/3 pans are the deeper, larger format, so this is the unit for holding a good quantity of a smaller number of ingredients — the workhorse toppings and cold prep a section leans on all service — under a glass canopy and within arm's reach of whoever's plating. At 1200 mm wide and 435 mm tall, it's compact enough to fit on a prep pass or service station without dominating the line.
In service it's a self-contained chilled well: load the pans, drop the glass guard and it holds temperature at +2 to +8 °C through the shift. The canopy keeps ingredients covered and on show while limiting the warm air getting in, and the compact 1200 × 395 mm footprint means it earns its place on a tight line rather than claiming floor space. Stainless steel construction stands up to daily washing and the busy splashes of service. Pans lift out at the end of service for cleaning and the well underneath wipes down.
It's a self-contained countertop unit running on a standard 230V supply, so it sits on existing worktop rather than being built in — give it a level, solid surface with clearance around the sides for airflow and a socket within reach. At 48 kg, it's solid enough to sit firmly without rocking. Because it sits on top of the counter, work out the finished working height before it goes in so staff aren't reaching over it all shift. Combisteel build, supplied through Craven Cooling with servicing backup.
