Why this single door commercial upright freezer earns its place
The GUF50 is a single-door upright storage freezer for back-of-house, built to the gastronorm format. It holds 292 litres gross and 228 litres net across three wire shelves, keeping frozen stock at -22 to -18 °C. In a working kitchen it does the unglamorous job of reliable frozen holding in a footprint that tucks against a wall rather than sprawling across the floor.
Day to day it runs on ventilated cooling for an even temperature through the cabinet, with automatic electric defrost so no one has to schedule it in, and an electronic controller to set and hold the band. Noise sits at 42 dB, which keeps it liveable in a kitchen that people work in. It carries an energy class of D and draws 1449 kWh a year — about £362 at 25p/kWh — on R290 refrigerant with an 85 g charge.
The cabinet measures 484 × 745 × 2100 mm externally, and the 484 mm width is the number that matters on delivery day: it clears standard doorways where a wider box would not, and the packed size is 515 × 765 × 2140 mm. Internally you get 368 × 580 × 1510 mm of usable space. It weighs 110 kg net (123 kg gross), runs on a 220–240 V 50 Hz single-phase supply drawing 380 W, and is finished in SS201 stainless inside and out.
