Why this stainless lid chest freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD GM600SS is a solid-lid chest freezer built for bulk frozen storage in a working kitchen. With 567 litres gross and 557 litres net behind an insulated white lid, it takes the overflow an upright freezer cannot hold — whole joints, catering packs, batch-cooked stock and long-hold frozen goods — and keeps it clear of the daily service line.
It holds a frozen band of -24 to -14 °C set on a mechanical controller, so the setting is simple and there is no electronic panel to fault. Defrost is manual, planned into a quiet period rather than triggered automatically. Running noise sits at 42 dB, and at 379.6 kWh a year that works out at about £95 a year at 25p/kWh. It carries energy class F and climate class 4, so it holds temperature in warmer back-of-house ambients.
Usable internal space measures 1680 × 480 × 725 mm and gross weight is 119 kg, so it is a two-person position into place. It runs from a standard 13 A supply, drawing 250 W, and cools with R600a hydrocarbon refrigerant on a 105 g charge. Leave clearance around the cabinet for condenser airflow.
