Why this solid lid chest freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD LHF620 is a solid-lid chest freezer for bulk frozen storage in back-of-house. With 556 litres gross and 426 litres net, it takes deliveries, batch-cooked stock and long-hold frozen lines off the floor and into one cabinet. The solid, insulated lid holds temperature well between openings, which suits stock that is loaded and left rather than picked from constantly through service.
The freezer runs at -23 to -16 °C under a mechanical controller, with manual defrost — the cabinet is emptied and cleared periodically rather than defrosting itself. It uses R600a refrigerant with a 110 g charge and is climate class 3, rated for typical indoor ambients. Rated at 737.3 kWh a year with a C energy rating and 163 W input, that works out at about £184 a year at 25p/kWh.
Internally the storage space is 1586 × 536 × 696 mm, and the cabinet packs to 1760 × 760 × 940 mm for delivery at 82 kg gross, 77 kg net — light enough for two to position, though measure access first. It runs from a standard 13 amp supply at 220–240 V. The exterior and interior are both finished in white.
