Why this walk-in fridge earns its place
The Combisteel 7489.1095 is a walk-in cold and freezer room — a self-contained insulated store built for kitchens that have outgrown cabinet storage. It gives back-of-house one controlled environment to take in deliveries, hold prepped and batch stock and rotate product at scale, rather than splitting it across separate units. Being a cold and freezer room, it can be configured for chilled or frozen duty, so a single shell covers whichever job the operation needs.
Day to day the room maintains a steady, controlled environment behind an insulated door, with the refrigeration unit doing the cooling and the room holding the load. Walk-in access means trolleys, racks and full trays move straight in and out, so loading, stock rotation and stock-takes all happen inside the store. Whether it holds chilled or frozen product is determined by the refrigeration unit specified for it.
Built from modular insulated panels, the room ships in sections and is assembled in position, so it passes through standard door openings instead of needing the whole shell moved in one piece. Installation calls for a firm, level base, space to build and a refrigeration engineer to fit and commission the unit, so plan it as a build with siting, drainage and power addressed early. Craven Cooling can specify the room and unit together and arrange servicing.
