Why this walk-in freezer earns its place
The Tefcold CRNF1815 is a compact walk-in freezer room for kitchens and food businesses that need bulk frozen storage in one accessible place rather than several upright freezers. It arrives as a modular system with the refrigeration built in, giving 1560 × 1260 × 1960 mm of internal space to hold frozen meat, fish, catering packs and prepped batches at a steady temperature. It suits busy back-of-house operations working past the limits of standing freezers.
In use it holds -20 to -10 °C for long-term frozen storage. Defrost is automatic and uses hot gas, clearing ice without manual intervention or a break in the cold chain, and an electronic controller manages the temperature. The system runs on R290, a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with low environmental impact, and operating noise is rated at 60 dB. At the rated energy use, electricity works out at about £2052 a year at 25p/kWh.
The room has an external footprint of 1800 × 1500 × 2200 mm (W×D×H) and 1560 × 1260 × 1960 mm inside, with a single hinged solid door opening to a 700 mm wide by 1765 mm high aperture. It ships packed at 2200 × 1600 × 2400 mm, so check delivery access and doorways against that before install. It runs from a 13A supply at 220-240V/50Hz, draws 1100W with a 150g R290 charge, and weighs 550 kg gross (520 kg net).
