Why this display fridge earns its place
The Hoshizaki HNC-210BE-R is a long, low countertop sushi display case — 2100 mm (W) × 345 mm (D) × 270 mm (H), just 47 kg — designed to keep prepared sushi and chilled ready-to-eat food in front of the customer at the point of sale. It stands on a counter or back-bar and turns finished product into a visible, self-service-friendly display in the space where food-to-go counters win impulse sales. The sliding front door and 87-litre capacity work for sushi, patisserie, deli counter and beverage display. The right-hand compressor version (DE912-R) means the refrigeration pack sits on the right as you face it.
As a self-contained unit, the case carries its own refrigeration on board — there is no remote pack to plumb in or external condenser to site, so it works from a single position on the counter from a 230 V mains socket using just 150 W. The Hoshizaki design maintains stable humidity and temperature at +0 to +5 °C through natural circulation rather than forced air, which prevents the drying and condensation damage that can ruin displayed sushi. It's built to hold prepared chilled product on clear display through the trading day without defrosting to water, so staff can restock and serve without moving stock in and out of a back-of-house fridge.
Installation is straightforward: the case is a plug-in countertop unit rather than a built-in, so it needs a level surface, a nearby socket and clearance around the refrigeration side for airflow. Because this is the right-hand compressor build, plan the layout so the right side is not boxed in tight against a wall or another appliance — the compressor needs to breathe. The long footprint suits a deli counter or back-bar, and at 47 kg it's light enough for any food-service counter.
