Why this back bar fridge earns its place
The Elstar EM500 is an upright back-bar cooler with two hinged glass doors, built to hold and display bottled and canned drinks behind a busy bar. Gross volume is 600 litres, 490 litres net, giving 0.85 m² of glazed display in a single tall cabinet with a black exterior and a hammered-aluminium interior. The upright format puts stock at eye level while keeping a small floor footprint.
It runs +2 to +8 °C with automatic electric defrost, holding drinks at serving temperature through a busy service. Energy class C at 1598.7 kWh a year is about £400 a year at 25p/kWh, and it draws 250 W. At 56 dB it is a working back-bar cooler rather than a front-of-house quiet unit.
The cabinet's interior measures 855 × 424 × 1437 mm (W×D×H) and it weighs 139 kg gross, so plan delivery and siting for a heavy upright — packed it stands 2028 mm tall. It plugs into a standard 13 A / 220–240 V supply and cools with R600a hydrocarbon refrigerant on a 120 g charge.
