Why this double door upright glass door freezer earns its place
The TEFCOLD Galaxy+ GPF2D is a double-door upright display freezer built to merchandise high-volume frozen stock behind glass. Two hinged heated glass doors present 2.1 m² of display in an all-black RAL9005 finish, inside and out, so frozen lines read cleanly against a dark background while customers see the full range without opening the cabinet. The heated doors keep the glass clear of condensation and ice in a busy retail environment.
The freezer holds -21 to -18 °C, a proper frozen band, and runs an automatic hot-gas defrost cycle governed by an electronic controller — hot-gas defrost clears the evaporator quickly and returns the cabinet to temperature with minimal disruption. It carries a D energy class and uses 8139.5 kWh a year, about £2035 a year at 25p/kWh, reflecting the demand of holding a large frozen load. Running noise is rated at 65 dB, so site it with that in mind.
This is a heavy, high-draw cabinet: net weight is 463 kg (488 kg gross) and it needs a 16 A supply on 220-240 V, drawing 1906 W — not a standard domestic socket, so confirm the circuit before install. Plan delivery access and a firm, level floor. For doorway clearance the packed unit is 1800 × 850 × 2390 mm — measure your narrowest opening and ceiling height first. Refrigerant is R290 (110 g charge), a low-GWP hydrocarbon.
