Why this static cooled ice cream display freezer earns its place
The Tefcold IC202SCE-SO is a scoop ice cream display freezer built for serving loose ice cream to order. Its 176-litre gross capacity holds working tubs at a temperature suited to scooping, and the white cabinet gives a clean front for a parlour, kiosk or serving counter. It is a static-cooled format aimed at businesses selling scooped ice cream rather than pre-packed lines.
The cabinet runs from -24 to -14 °C, cold enough to keep ice cream firm yet workable for scooping. Cooling is static with a mechanical controller and manual defrost, so the routine is straightforward — defrost is done by hand when needed rather than on an automatic cycle. Noise sits at 45 dB, and it carries climate class 5, rated for the warm ambient conditions of a busy serving area. On 561 kWh a year that is about £140 a year at 25p/kWh.
Internally the cabinet measures 500 × 495 × 710 mm (W×D×H) and it weighs 96 kg, so it needs a solid, level base with clear space around it for airflow. It runs off a standard 13 A supply drawing 200 W, and uses R600a refrigerant with a 55 g charge. It is rated energy class D with an energy efficiency index of 44.9%, and the interior is white painted steel.
