THE WORKING VIEW

Why this commercial dishwasher earns its place

The ED900A D adds one critical feature to the proven compact design: an active drain pump. Sounds simple, but it solves a real problem in kitchens where drainage isn't straightforward.

Standard dishwashers rely on gravity or mains pressure to empty the wash and rinse tanks. In many kitchens — basements, low-pressure areas, older buildings, or rooms where the waste line takes an awkward route — that's unreliable. Water backs up. Cycles stall. Maintenance calls pile up. The drain pump removes that risk. It actively pushes dirty water out to your waste outlet, regardless of gradient, pressure, or plumbing quirks. Cycles complete on schedule. Operators unload on rhythm. No emergency troubleshooting.

The core design is unchanged and efficient. 500×500 mm passthrough footprint, three baskets per 5-minute cycle, analogue displays on both wash and rinse tanks. Auto-start means operators load and go. Low water usage keeps utility costs lean. The single-skinned hood stays compact and affordable. And the pump is integral — not a bolt-on extra or something that needs special maintenance.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Most dishwashers rely on gravity or building water pressure to empty. If your drain outlet is below the machine, if pressure is weak, or if the waste line is kinked or poorly routed, water backs up and cycles stall. The pump actively pushes water out, so none of that matters — reliable drainage every time.

It's built into the machine. When a cycle needs to drain, the pump activates and pushes dirty water from the wash and rinse tanks directly to your waste outlet. It's automatic; operators don't interact with it. If it ever needs service, the engineers can reach it — ring 01792

Absolutely. The pump removes dependency on building layout. Same reliable drainage whether the outlet is higher or lower, nearby or at distance. Exactly the benefit you get in a tight space.

It uses power to run, but not significantly. The energy cost is minimal compared to the labour and downtime you save when drainage is unreliable. Most kitchens find it's worth it immediately.

If your current setup drains reliably without backups or stalls, gravity is fine. But if you've ever had drainage issues, or if you're installing in a basement, low-pressure area, or older building, the pump removes the risk. Ring 01792 732702 to talk through your specific layout — the team can advise.

It's a specification decision made at purchase, not something retrofitted afterward. If you're at all uncertain about your drainage, spec it now rather than calling for help mid-service later.
