Why this ice machine earns its place
The Ice-O-Matic GEM0655 GM920 is the ice-making head for sites that want nugget ice at serious commercial volume. It is a fully modular machine, designed to sit on top of a separate storage bin rather than carrying its own built-in reserve, so the bin can be chosen around the site's service pattern.
Nugget ice has a different job from standard cube ice. It is soft, chewable and fast chilling, which makes it valuable for soft drinks, cocktails, displays and high-throughput self-serve areas where customers or staff want plenty of ice that handles easily. The GM920 is listed with stainless steel construction and air cooling, giving it the practical build expected in a commercial ice plant.
Because the storage bin is sold separately, this is a machine to specify as a system. The manufacturer lists B25, B40 and B55 storage bins for use with the required KBT19 adaptor, so planning should cover the bin, drainage, ventilation and access at the same time as the ice head.
