Why this racking trolley earns its place
Cambro built the GN 2/1 Trolley to solve a real problem with metal food pan trolleys: rust, corrosion, weld failure, and metal-on-metal noise under load. Their answer is state-of-the-art composite material — stronger than steel, without the weak points. This trolley stands 1016 mm tall and measures 645 mm deep, sized to hold standard 2/1 Gastronorm pans on rails spaced 7.6 cm apart for maximum flexibility.
Every shelf carries the same pan configuration, so rotation and relocation between kitchens is straightforward. The 3 mm pan stops at each rail end prevent pans sliding during movement — a small detail that catches a lot of real-world accidents. At 44.55 kg, the trolley itself is manageable for one person, but rigid enough that loading a full stack of pans never feels uncertain or wobbly.
The composite construction delivers practical advantages in high-intensity work. There's no rust developing in hidden corners, no weld points failing under the fatigue of hundreds of movements per service cycle. The material simply won't corrode — your trolley looks identical in year three as it did in month one, even if hygiene washdowns happen daily. Cambro built this from the experience of real kitchens, and it shows.
