Why this extraction canopie earns its place
The Type 63 deflector hood is built for small-footprint prep stations where you need capture without the bulk of a full canopy. At 440 mm wide, 300 mm deep, and 550 mm tall, it's sized for a single station or a narrow wall-mounted work area — think a prep counter in a small kitchen, a wash-down zone, or a ventilation point in a confined space. The compact footprint means it fits where larger extraction canopies won't.
Deflector hoods work by drawing steam and cooking vapour downwards and upwards through a vertical path, concentrating the capture right at the source. Unlike flat-plate designs, the deflector geometry accelerates air movement and guides vapour efficiently toward the extraction duct above. At 2 kg, it's lightweight enough for straightforward wall or ceiling mounting without heavy structural support.
The design is clean and simple — no complex baffles or filters, just the deflector surface itself. That means easy cleaning: wipe the deflector down regularly during service to prevent grease accumulation, and flush out any moisture or condensation. It connects directly to your 400 mm or similar extraction ducting, so it integrates into standard commercial ductwork without custom transitions.
