Why this induction hob earns its place
The Lincat Opus 800 OE8019 is a countertop induction hob from the Opus range, built with two cooking zones and designed for busy commercial kitchens. Lincat states that it delivers 90% efficiency, compared with 55% on a solid electric hot plate and 50% on a gas hob.
The unit is made from stainless steel and glass and measures 300 x 800 x 800 mm externally. It is a substantial countertop appliance rather than a small portable hob, and it runs on 400V with a rated input of 21200 W.
To help protect users and save energy, the hob features automatic pan detection that cuts power when no pan is present. It also includes multiple internal cooling fans and overheat protection, which are sensible details in a high-output commercial kitchen.
