THE WORKING VIEW

Why this pressure fryer earns its place

Pressure frying is the specialist's answer to peak-demand chicken services. The Henny Penny HP8000GSS1 operates four independent heads from a single 500×980mm footprint, making it a compact fit for tight kitchen spaces while pushing genuine output. By frying under pressure, the unit enables cooking at lower temperatures than atmospheric fryers—a shift that cuts oil oxidation and extends your oil life significantly. Faster cooking times mean you'll turn covers during the rush without backup or compromise.

The pressure seal also works in your food's favour. By keeping natural juices locked in, the machine reduces the oil absorption that makes fried chicken heavy. The result reads immediately: the crisp exterior stays separate from tender, succulent meat. In a competitive market, that difference registers in repeat orders.

Construction is commercial-grade: 1219mm tall with solid stainless-steel build, weighing 172kg, the fryer is built to anchor a service station. It runs on natural gas at 1150W input and connects to a standard 240V supply. Two-year warranty covers parts and labour, with the option to extend for peace of mind on a heavy-use piece of kit.

BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions, answered straight

Pressure frying cooks product faster at lower temperatures because the sealed chamber raises the boiling point of moisture. The chicken cooks from inside and outside at once—a process that would take longer in an atmospheric fryer. Speed plus quality is the trade the machine delivers.

Cooking at lower temperatures slows oil oxidation dramatically. Most operators report extending oil life by 30–50% compared to open fryers—the exact gain depends on volume and what you're frying, but the saving stacks across a year of service.

The unit is specified for natural gas at the pressures UK mains supply. Switching fuels without re-certification risks performance and safety. Speak to the supplier on 01792 732702 about alternative arrangements for your site.

The fryer sits 500mm wide and 980mm deep. Allow another 150–200mm on the sides for cable and gas runs, and clear headroom above for the flue. In a tight kitchen, that compact base makes a real difference to flow.

No—the unit doesn't include an integrated filter system. You'll manage oil filtration through a separate cart-based unit, which is the standard setup in kitchens running multiple fryers. This keeps maintenance flexible and the fryer focused on cooking.

The sealed pressure chamber needs annual inspection to hold safety certification. Gas connections should be checked annually too. Contact 01792 732702 to book your first service and establish a routine—two years of parts and labour cover means the investment protects itself.
