Why this meat fridge earns its place
The Foster EcoPro G3 EP1440M 10/188 is a two-door, 1350-litre cabinet built specifically for fresh meat rather than general chilled storage. Where a standard fridge runs +1°C to +4°C, this cabinet holds a tighter -2°C to +2°C — the band butchers, meat wholesalers and producers need to slow bacterial growth on fresh cuts without freezing the product. It's the premium-construction version of Foster's EP1440M, built for operations handling meat in volume rather than as one ingredient among many.
Six 2/1 GN shelves, three per door, each fitted with the anti-tilt system standard across the EcoPro G3 range and rated to 40kg, give substantial racking for boxed and tray-loaded meat. Foster's Circulair II air-distribution technology keeps that -2°C to +2°C band consistent across all six shelves, front to back, so stock at the bottom of a fully loaded cabinet holds the same temperature as stock at the top — important when the whole point of the unit is precise, narrow-band control. Cooling is fan-assisted on a 230V supply, with Fuzzy Logic II 'e' mode control managing the compressor against actual load.
This premium version is built in heavy-duty stainless steel exterior and interior, with a stainless steel back cover that lets the cabinet sit island-style in the middle of a room rather than only against a wall. Both doors are self-closing and lockable with a 90° dwell for loading, fitted with a thermal-break frame and hot-gas door heater to control condensation, and the smartphone-style touch panel stays hidden until lit. The refrigerant is R290, a natural HFC-free gas, and the whole 182.5kg cabinet sits on 80mm castors, the front two braked. It's covered by 2 years on-site parts and labour.
