Why this meat fridge earns its place
The Foster EcoPro G3 EP1440M 10/186 is a two-door, 1350-litre cabinet built specifically for fresh meat rather than general chilled storage. It holds -2°C to +2°C, tighter than the +1°C to +4°C of a standard fridge, the band butchers, meat wholesalers and producers rely on to slow bacterial growth on fresh cuts without freezing the product. This is the standard-construction version of Foster's EP1440M — the same cabinet and temperature band as the premium model, at a lower specification of interior finish.
Six 2/1 GN shelves, three per door, each with the anti-tilt system standard across the EcoPro G3 range and rated to 40kg, give solid racking for boxed and tray-loaded meat. Foster's Circulair II air-distribution technology keeps the -2°C to +2°C band consistent across all six shelves, so stock at the bottom of a fully loaded cabinet holds the same temperature as stock at the top. Cooling is fan-assisted on a 230V supply, with Fuzzy Logic II 'e' mode control managing the compressor against actual load rather than a fixed cycle.
Build is standard-grade stainless steel exterior with an aluminium interior, and a stainless steel back cover that allows island positioning away from a wall if the kitchen layout needs it. Both doors are self-closing and lockable with a 90° dwell for loading, fitted with a thermal-break frame and hot-gas door heater to control condensation, and the touch-sensitive control panel stays hidden until lit. The refrigerant is R290, a natural HFC-free gas, and the 182.5kg cabinet sits on 80mm castors, the front two braked. It's covered by 2 years on-site parts and labour.
