Why this upright fridge earns its place
The Polar G-Series PG052 is a single stable-door upright gastro fridge for professional kitchens that can't afford to lose cold air every time someone reaches in for a tray. The stable door splits into two independently opening sections, so staff pull from the top or bottom without releasing the whole cabinet's temperature — a straightforward efficiency gain over a standard full-height door of the same size.
Inside there's 387 litres of net usable capacity across three shelves plus a floor protector, sized for 2/1 gastronorm trays so stock moves straight in from prep or out to a combi oven. Forced air cooling holds the fridge at -2 to +8°C and recovers quickly once the doors close, while the automatic heated defrost cycle keeps that performance consistent without staff having to think about it. Energy Class B and 390.6 kWh a year (EEI 31.4%) keep running costs proportionate for a unit that's on around the clock.
Build is stainless steel throughout for easy cleaning, with a digital controller and always-on LED display for precise temperature control. The self-closing door improves both efficiency and kitchen safety, 60mm insulation keeps running costs down, and the whole unit is backed by two years' parts and labour warranty. Gross weight is 106kg, drawing 220W on a standard 220-240V supply, with R600a refrigerant and a Climate Class 5 rating.
