Why this single door upright fridge earns its place
The KOLDBOX KXR600 is a single-door upright gastronorm refrigerator built for kitchens that need substantial chilled storage from a single door rather than splitting it across two. At 680mm wide, 840mm deep and a full 2000mm tall, it’s sized to sit alongside a matching freezer in a back-of-house run.
Gross capacity is 600 litres across 3 adjustable GN2/1 shelves sized at 535 x 650mm, so full gastronorm trays load without repacking. Cooling is ventilated, refrigerant is R290, and the unit is rated Energy Class D at 195 kWh a year. It runs on a 13amp supply and, at 60 dB, is on the louder side, so siting away from customer-facing space is worth considering.
Build is 201 stainless steel inside and out with rounded internal corners for easier cleandown. The door is reversible, self-closing with a dwell position, and fitted with door-responsive LED lighting and an integrated lock. The unit sits on 4 heavy-duty castors — one lockable — so a 125kg fridge can still be repositioned for cleaning without lifting gear, and a replaceable door gasket with a low-friction integrated handle covers the main long-term wear points.
