Why this fresh meat fridge earns its place
The TEFCOLD RK1420X1 is a double-door upright refrigerator built for high-volume chilled storage in a working kitchen. With 1300 litres gross and 954 litres net across six grey wire shelves, it takes the bulk of a day's prep, deliveries and portioned stock off the pass and into one cabinet. Two hinged, self-closing solid doors hold the cold in through a busy service, and the -2 to +8 °C band suits fresh produce and chilled proteins.
Cooling is ventilated for an even temperature across every shelf, with automatic off-cycle defrost that clears frost without a manual routine. An electronic controller holds the setpoint and keeps temperature checks quick for the team. Running on R600a refrigerant with a 110 g charge, the cabinet is rated at 463.6 kWh a year — about £116 a year at 25p/kWh — measures 47 dB in use, and is climate class 5, rated for warm kitchen ambients.
The cabinet measures 1420 × 875 × 2090 mm externally and 1240 × 700 × 1501 mm internally. Check doorways and lift access before delivery, as it packs to 1445 × 905 × 2150 mm and weighs 226 kg gross, 208 kg net. It runs from a standard 13 amp supply at 220–240 V, drawing 360 W. Both the exterior and interior are SS304 stainless steel for durability and easy cleaning.
