Why this upright fridge earns its place
The Polar U-Series UA032 is a vast double door upright fridge built for restaurants storing genuinely large volumes of chilled ingredients. Rated 1400 litres gross with 980 litres of usable capacity, it doubles the storage of the single-door UA030 while keeping the same shelving logic — 52 shelf positions at 5cm intervals across the cabinet, with 1/1 or 2/1 sized gastronorm trays hanging directly on the runners without needing extra shelves.
Running temperature is -2°C to +8°C, held by powerful forced air cooling that stays consistent even with both doors opened regularly, drawing 290W on a 220-240V supply. Energy Class A performance means 365 kWh a year of consumption — a genuinely low running cost for a cabinet of this scale — with an EEI of 24.0%, and internal LED lighting makes checking stock across such a large capacity straightforward without pulling everything out.
Construction is stainless steel inside and out, with pressed stainless steel side panels removing the need for extra shelf runners. Six adjustable shelves are fitted as standard, each rated to hold 25kg, and both doors are lockable with self-closing action for stock security and energy efficiency. At 260kg gross weight, it's mounted on heavy-duty castors for repositioning during cleaning or maintenance, with automatic off-cycle defrost and climate class 5 cooling built to hold performance in kitchens up to 40°C ambient. It's backed by 3 years parts and labour warranty as standard.
