Why this double door upright fridge earns its place
The KOLDBOX KXR1200 is a double-door upright gastronorm refrigerator built for kitchens that need substantial chilled storage rather than a single-door under-counter unit. At 1340mm wide, 840mm deep and a full 2000mm tall, it's a genuine walk-up fridge for bulk deliveries, prepped stock, or a shared chiller serving more than one section of a kitchen.
Gross capacity is 1200 litres across 6 adjustable GN2/1 shelves sized at 535 x 650mm, so full gastronorm trays load straight in without repacking. Cooling is ventilated, refrigerant is R290, and the unit is rated Energy Class D at 380 kWh a year — a figure worth weighing against the 1200-litre capacity for the footprint. It runs on a 13amp supply and, at 60 dB, is on the louder side, so it's worth siting away from customer-facing areas.
Build is 201 stainless steel inside and out with rounded internal corners for easier cleandown, and the reversible door is self-closing with a dwell position so it doesn't hang open mid-service. Integrated door locks and door-responsive LED lighting come as standard, and the unit sits on 4 heavy-duty castors — one lockable — so a 213kg fridge can still be repositioned for cleaning without lifting equipment. A replaceable door gasket and low-friction integrated handle keep it serviceable long-term.
