Why this drawer fridge earns its place
The UC5240 is a compact low-height refrigerated counter for prep sections where bench height and footprint both matter. At 680 mm high and 1360 mm wide, it tucks under a worktop or works as a standalone chilled prep station, putting cold storage directly under the section in a stainless steel body. It is a working prep-line unit rather than a display fridge.
It holds +2 to +8 °C, a chilled band suited to prepped and fresh ingredients. Ventilated cooling keeps the interior temperature even, and defrost is automatic, so there is no manual routine to schedule. The unit runs at 42 dB and carries energy class C; on its verified 784.8 kWh a year, running cost works out at about £196 a year at 25p/kWh.
External dimensions are 1360 × 700 × 680 mm (W×D×H), and packed it ships at 1405 × 750 × 720 mm — worth checking against doorways and worktop clearance. It runs from a standard 13-amp supply at 220-240 V, draws 300 W, and uses R600a refrigerant with an 85 g charge. Net weight is 82 kg, so plan siting before delivery, and both exterior and interior are stainless steel for hygiene.
