Why this stainless lid topping unit earns its place
The GVC33-120 is a refrigerated gastronorm topping shelf that sits above a prep counter and keeps ingredient pans chilled at the point of assembly. The chilled well runs 850 × 245 × 150 mm internally, taking gastronorm pans so toppings, garnishes and made-up ingredients stay to hand and to temperature through service. The lid holds the cold in when the line is quiet.
It holds a +2 to +8 °C band under electronic control. Defrost is manual, so build a short defrost into the cleaning routine rather than leaving it to run continuously. At 40 dB it is quiet enough for an open pass, and on its verified figure of 963.6 kWh a year it costs about £241 a year to run at 25p/kWh.
The unit is finished in SS201 stainless steel inside and out, which wipes down for back-of-house hygiene between shifts. It runs on a standard 13 A supply and the sealed system uses R600a refrigerant, so no special electrical or plumbing installation is required beyond a suitable socket and a level surface.
