Why this counter fridge earns its place
The Williams HJC4-SA — Craven Cooling's Y415 — is a four-door stainless steel counter fridge built for the working prep line rather than back-of-house bulk storage. It sits under a worktop or supports one directly, giving a kitchen four independently accessed, self-closing compartments for GN 1/1 chilled stock instead of one deep cabinet you have to dig through. It's the format restaurant, hotel and contract kitchens reach for when they need real capacity at counter height, within arm's reach of the pass.
Inside, it holds 374 litres net (715 litres gross) across four hinged, barrel-locked doors, running a +1 to +4°C holding range on R290 refrigerant with forced-air cooling for even temperatures corner to corner. Energy Class A puts consumption at 405.2 kWh a year against a 250W input on a standard 230V supply, with the CoolSmart digital controller trimming a further 15% off that through smart cycling. It's built to Climate Class 5, meaning it holds temperature reliably even in kitchens running hot — up to 43°C ambient — where lesser counters drift.
Build quality is stainless steel outside and aluminium in, with radiused interior corners for actual clean-down rather than corners that trap grease. Doors are self-closing and barrel-locked with magnetic balloon gaskets giving a 100% seal, and each section carries two 1/1 GN nylon-coated wire shelves (eight in total) or trayslides on anti-tilt, removable racking. Insulation is high-density injected polyurethane with low GWP and zero ODP, sat on heavy-duty, non-marking lockable castors with brakes. Williams backs it with 2 years parts and labour.
