Why this counter fridge earns its place
The Polar U-Series UA070 two door counter fridge is built specifically around energy efficiency, aimed at heavy-duty use in the busiest, most demanding kitchens rather than light or occasional service. Stainless steel construction runs through the interior and exterior, and the 1/1 gastronorm compatible interior lets trays slide directly into the counter.
Usable capacity is 204 litres across two adjustable shelves, in a 281-litre-class cabinet. Forced air cooling delivers consistent temperatures even when doors are opened continuously through service, and the compressor is positioned to shorten the distance cold air has to travel — a design detail aimed squarely at improving temperature reliability under heavy daily use. Drawing 250W, the counter runs on R290 refrigerant and is rated Climate Class 5.
60mm of insulation and Energy Class A consumption at 332.9kWh a year (EEI 14.4%) keep running costs down on a unit that's likely to be on continuously. Automatic electric defrost maintains performance without manual attention, and self-closing doors help hold temperature and reduce running costs further. A digital controller gives a constant readout, and the unit is quiet in operation at around 65dB.
