Why this counter fridge earns its place
The Foster Xtra XR2H is a two-door counter fridge designed to sit at working height rather than as a walk-in cabinet — the format that suits prep sections, service counters and any kitchen where chilled storage needs to be within arm's reach rather than a walk across the room. It's built for wall-backed positioning, with an open-back design that improves ventilation and cooling performance in that setup.
Net volume runs to 193 litres across two adjustable 1/1 gastronorm shelves, held at +2 to +8°C by fan-assisted cooling for rapid recovery after doors are opened during service. Energy consumption is rated at 1127.8 kWh a year, Energy Class C, EEI 49.4% — a reasonable running cost for a counter unit that's likely to be opened and closed constantly through a shift rather than left shut like a storage cabinet. Climate Class 5 rating means it holds that range in a working kitchen environment rather than a controlled room.
Construction is stainless steel exterior with an aluminium interior, finished for the wipe-down cleaning a counter unit needs given its position in the workflow. The door gasket is removable for proper cleaning, both doors are hinged, and four castors let the whole unit be repositioned without lifting. Refrigerant is R290, and it carries Foster's standard 2 years parts and labour warranty.
