Why this double door counter fridge earns its place
The Blizzard HBC2SL is a slimline twin-door counter refrigerator built at 600mm deep rather than the standard 700mm — a genuine difference in a kitchen where floor space or aisle width is constrained. At 1360 × 600 × 850mm overall, it holds 228 litres gross across two doors, less than the standard-depth HBC2 but still real usable chilled storage at worktop height.
Two adjustable shelves organise the cabinet, and an even, ducted air distribution system keeps both compartments at consistent temperature despite the narrower body. Cooling is ventilated, run through a Dixell digital controller, and the unit runs on a standard 13-amp supply, rated Energy Class C at 220 kWh a year — a controlled figure close to the standard-depth model despite the reduced footprint.
Build is stainless steel exterior and interior, rated climate class 4 and running at 42dB. Both doors are self-closing with a dwell position for hands-free loading, fitted with replaceable gaskets, with internal corners rounded for cleaning. The refrigerant is R290, defrost is automatic, and the 109kg unit sits on lockable heavy-duty castors.
