Why this double door counter freezer earns its place
The KOLDBOX KXFC2 is a double-door counter freezer built to sit at worktop height alongside fridge counters, giving frozen storage without breaking up a prep line with a full-height upright. At 1360mm wide, 700mm deep and 850mm high, it holds -22 to -18°C — proper deep-freeze temperature rather than a chiller running cold.
Gross capacity is 282 litres, with one adjustable GN1/1 shelf per door and even air distribution through a ducted cooling system, keeping temperature consistent across the cabinet rather than pooling cold in one spot. Energy consumption is 215 kWh a year, refrigerant is R290, and at 42 dB it's quiet enough to run alongside a fridge counter without adding noticeably to kitchen noise. Ventilated cooling and a Dixell digital controller manage temperature, with automatic defrost removing manual ice-clearing from the routine.
Construction is AISI 201 stainless steel inside and out, with rounded internal corners for easier cleandown. The doors are self-closing with a dwell position, so they don't sit open mid-service, and heavy-duty castors come as standard, so a 133kg unit can still be repositioned for cleaning or reconfiguring a counter run. A replaceable door gasket and integrated door handle round out the build.
