Why this upright freezer earns its place
The Polar U-Series bakery freezer gives on-site bakeries and patisserie sections dedicated frozen storage sized to their own tray format, rather than adapting general-purpose freezer shelving to fit. It's built for kitchens holding proofed dough, par-baked goods or frozen patisserie stock ahead of baking or finishing.
Capacity is up to 18 patisserie trays at 600x400mm (619 litres usable per Polar's figures, 534 litres net per spec), held at a genuine deep-freeze -22 to -18°C. Forced air cooling gives fast, even cooling recovery, which matters when the door is opened repeatedly through a production shift. Polar rates the cabinet for ambient conditions of 8-43°C, so it holds its range even positioned near ovens or proving equipment. Running cost is 2573.2 kWh a year, Energy Class D, EEI 62.7%, on a 750W input.
Build is stainless steel exterior, with sturdy castors for positioning and a solid, self-closing reversible door that helps retain temperature and cut running costs between openings. Defrost is manual, refrigerant is R290, and it carries 2 years parts and labour warranty. As with the bakery fridge, it takes 600x400mm trays only — not 800x400mm — and no shelves are included since it's designed around tray guides. Trays are sold separately.
