Why this upright freezer earns its place
The Polar G-Series PG054 is a single stable-door upright gastro freezer for kitchens that need dedicated frozen storage without the floor space of a chest freezer. The stable door splits into independently opening top and bottom sections, letting staff access one part of the freezer without exposing the rest to warmer kitchen air — a bigger win on a freezer than a fridge, since frost recovery costs more energy to claw back.
Inside, 387 litres of net usable capacity spreads across four shelves, sized for 2/1 gastronorm trays so frozen stock moves straight between this freezer and a combi oven or blast chiller. Forced air cooling holds the standard commercial deep-freeze band of -22 to -18°C and recovers quickly after door openings, while automatic defrost keeps performance consistent without manual intervention. Energy Class C at 1412.5 kWh a year (EEI 41.8%) reflects the extra energy a freezer draws to hold sub-zero temperatures compared with an equivalent fridge.
Build is stainless steel throughout, with a self-closing door, digital controls, and a user-friendly display for precise temperature management. R290 refrigerant and a Climate Class 5 rating cover the environmental and ambient-performance side, and the unit is backed by two years' parts and labour warranty. Gross weight is 111kg, drawing 480W on a 220-240V supply.
